Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 4, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information Ad Columns (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, why we collect it, and how we use it. We designed Ad Columns to keep sensitive Ads Manager data on your machine — not on our servers.

1. The short version

  • Your saved column views, presets, and extension settings live in Chrome’s local storage on your machine. We do not upload them.
  • We never collect, store, or transmit your ad data, ad account data, or campaign performance data.
  • We collect the minimum we need to run a paid product: an email and license key for billing/licensing, plus basic operational logs.
  • We don’t sell your data, and we don’t use it for advertising.

2. What we collect

Information you give us

  • Waitlist email. If you sign up on adcolumns.com, we store your email address so we can email you when the product launches.
  • Purchase information. When you buy a subscription, our merchant of record (Lemon Squeezy) collects your name, email, billing address, and payment details. Lemon Squeezy shares the email and license key with us so we can activate your license. We do not receive or store your full payment card details.
  • Support correspondence. If you email us, we keep the message and your email address so we can respond.

Information generated by using the extension

  • Local data. The extension stores your saved column views, recent views, preferences, and other settings in Chrome’s local storage. This data stays on your device.
  • Install ID. When you activate a license, the extension generates a random install identifier and sends it to our licensing server with your license key. This lets us validate the license, enforce seat limits, and issue a signed token. The install ID is not linked to your identity beyond the email tied to your purchase.
  • License tokens. Our licensing server issues a signed token (JWT) that the extension uses to confirm an active subscription. Tokens are short-lived and refreshed automatically.

Information collected automatically

  • Operational logs. Our server logs requests to the licensing API (timestamp, route, status code, IP address) for security, abuse prevention, and debugging. Logs are retained for a short period and then deleted.

3. What we do not collect

Ad Columns does not read, transmit, or store the contents of your Meta Ads Manager account. That includes ad creative, spend, ROAS, conversions, audiences, campaign structure, or any other performance data. The extension reads the page DOM only to render its UI (the toolbar button, inline +/✕ controls, sort menu) and to capture your column selection when you ask it to save a view.

4. How we use information

  • To provide, maintain, and improve the Service;
  • To activate and validate your license, including enforcing seat limits;
  • To process payments and provide receipts (handled by Lemon Squeezy);
  • To respond to support requests;
  • To send transactional email (e.g., launch announcement to waitlist, billing receipts, license expiration notices);
  • To detect, prevent, and respond to fraud or abuse;
  • To comply with legal obligations.

5. Legal bases (EEA / UK users)

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process your personal data under one or more of the following legal bases: performance of a contract (e.g., providing the Service you bought), legitimate interests (e.g., securing our systems, preventing abuse), consent (e.g., the waitlist email subscription, which you can withdraw at any time), and compliance with legal obligations.

6. Sharing

We share personal data only with:

  • Service providers who help us run the Service under contract — currently Supabase (database hosting), Vercel (web hosting), and Lemon Squeezy (merchant of record / billing);
  • Legal authorities, when we are required to by law, court order, or to protect our rights and the safety of our users;
  • Successors, in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (we will notify you and honor this policy or provide an opt-out).

We do not sell your personal data and we do not share it with advertisers.

7. Data retention

  • Waitlist emails: kept until launch announcement and then for one year, or until you unsubscribe.
  • License records: kept for as long as your subscription is active, plus a reasonable period afterward for accounting and dispute resolution (typically up to 7 years).
  • Server logs: typically 30 days, longer if needed for security investigations.
  • Local extension data: stays on your device until you delete it or remove the extension.

8. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect data, including HTTPS in transit, signed JWTs for license tokens, row-level security in our database, and minimum-privilege access for our service providers. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep yours safe.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export the personal data we hold about you, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, email support@adcolumns.com. We’ll respond within a reasonable timeframe and may need to verify your identity first.

California residents have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know what categories of personal information we collect and the right to delete. We do not “sell” or “share” personal information as those terms are defined in the CCPA/CPRA.

10. International transfers

Our service providers may process personal data in the United States or other countries. Where required, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or comparable safeguards to protect your data when it is transferred internationally.

11. Children

Ad Columns is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Cookies

adcolumns.com uses minimal functional cookies needed to operate the site. We do not use third-party advertising cookies on our site. Lemon Squeezy’s checkout pages use their own cookies, governed by their privacy policy.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll change the “Last updated” date at the top and, for material changes, give reasonable advance notice (e.g., by email or a banner on the site).

14. Contact

Questions, requests, or complaints? Email support@adcolumns.com. If you are in the EEA or UK and feel we have not addressed your concern, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
